Following the signing of American driver Robb Holland to drive the Team HARD Honda Civic, Tony has had several discussions in order to try to get into a car for the next round of the BTCC at Snetterton on 12th August.
One of those conversations has led to Tony joining forces for the weekend with John Thorne and his Thorney Motorsport team.
Tony will drive the Vauxhall Insignia VXR-R at the 2.99 mile Norfolk circuit in order to gain some valuable experience and get some early seat time in an NGTC race car as he looks to the future.
As a racing driver he wants to be out on track as much as possible and the opportunity that has arisen will hopefully allow him to continue his quest for more points in this season’s championship.
Tony said, “This was too good an opportunity for me to turn down. The car has a lot of potential which we will be looking to maximise over the weekend”.
John said “ Thorney Motorsport welcomes Tony’s experience as a front-wheel driver in order to help develop the car and help with car set-up and data with a view to getting the car on the front running pace by the end of the season.
